Taylor Lauren Design Studio
My work centers on creating custom floor plans and digital room designs that guide the early stages of interior redesign, with a particular focus on maximizing smaller spaces. Each project balances functionality and aesthetic appeal, delivered through a to-scale floor plan and an interactive 3D model. Final deliverables include detailed layouts, curated furnishing selections, and a clear execution plan. This process establishes a strong design foundation that clients can use to inform major decisions, adapt as a sourcing guide, or carry out the purchasing process independently.
Office Design
This client wanted to redesign her office to create a more functional layout without investing in new large furniture pieces. We kept the existing items, replacing only the chairs, one small table, and decorative accents. A fresh coat of paint introduced a new color scheme that reflected the nature of her business and created a more welcoming environment for client meetings.
Mid-century Modern Living Room
This client had a very distinct, almost mid-century modern style that challenged me to step outside my usual aesthetic. They wanted to rework their existing layout to create a more functional and cohesive space for TV watching. Ultimately, we decided to divide the room into two zones — a comfortable living area and a cozy reading nook featuring a chair they wanted to repurpose. The client had a few specific requests, including keeping their orange ceiling, so I recommended slightly darkening the shade and incorporating the color throughout the room with complementary accents like throw pillows, lamps, and artwork.
NYC Apartment
This couple wanted their New York City apartment living room to serve multiple purposes—a place to work, relax, and dine—while flowing seamlessly into the open kitchen. Although the room wasn’t very wide, its generous length allowed me to thoughtfully divide the space into distinct zones: a cozy living area, a dedicated workspace, a dining nook, and even room for counter stools. This approach made it possible to incorporate everything they needed while still maintaining an open, cohesive feel.
The project also gave me the opportunity to lean more fully into my personal design style, creating a calm, inviting oasis that feels like a true retreat from the energy of the city.
For the bedroom, the goal was to carry that same sense of calm throughout the apartment by using a consistent color palette. We incorporated their love of the beach through artwork and kept the bed light and airy, balancing it with deeper wood tones and subtle touches of brass. The result is a space that feels clean, elevated, and soothing—neutral, but far from bland.
